Other times, you get surprised. <\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-9d97efb\" data-block-id=\"9d97efb\"><p class=\"stk-block-text__text\">For example, sometimes, you have plans to launch the first run of your first tiny publishing project. And sometimes, right before you&#8217;re about to press the <em>Publish<\/em> button, your wife tells you that your baby is on their way, and the time that you thought you had to squeeze off the publication before your free time is monopolized by a tiny human just\u2014<em>poof!<\/em>\u2014vanishes.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-3faa059\" data-block-id=\"3faa059\"><p class=\"stk-block-text__text\">So, anyways, surprises! Which has been a continuous part of this process. As a brand-new project, ivy. has suprised me in hundreds of ways. From the incredible quality of the works submitted, to the little notes of support and well-wishes, to the fact that anybody decided to entrust us with their work at all&#8230; Surprises are wonderful.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-6975586\" data-block-id=\"6975586\"><p class=\"stk-block-text__text\"><strong>I am so, <em>so<\/em> excited for you to read the first, inaugural run of ivy.<\/strong> We&#8217;ve selected five stories of positive, speculative fiction that, honestly, I&#8217;m blown away by. There are twists, cleverness, and other little turns; each is amazingly inventive and inspired. Each dares to dream of a different future, one that maybe we&#8217;ll be fortunate to reach.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-b037816\" data-block-id=\"b037816\"><p class=\"stk-block-text__text\">I hope you&#8217;ll be surprised by what you read.
